Newzbin:View Modes

Newzbin has several different forms of listings, each catering to a different need. Please make sure you are in the appropriate section before starting your browsing.

[edit] Newzbin
(Reports) The most commonly used form of our listings, these are hand-created selections from Usenet which represent a useful post. Not all of Usenet may be represented in these listings, as they are manually created.
[edit] Usenet (raw)
(Files raw view) This section contains every single binary file posted to Usenet that we can find. This section generally has about 12 million entries in it, so can be hard to navigate - but if it's on Usenet, then it's most likely in here.
[edit] Usenet (cond)
(Files condensed view) In this mode several similar files are represented on one line, with a representative file and a count of how many it represents. The count (like 38f to mean 38 files condensed into that line) is a link to the full raw view list of those files. Hovering the mouse over the count pops up the same list, and clicking it opens a new page. For some types of posts, such a mp3's, it's absolutely useless.
[edit] NFOs
This is a sub-section of Files Raw View. This contains only NFO files that are on Usenet.
[edit] NZBs
Another sub-section of Files Raw View. This one only contains NZB files that have been posted to Usenet. Note this is not the same as our own in-house created NZBs which you can make from the Reports section.
[edit] Lite Mode
Lite mode has been created on v3 after a general response that v3 is slower and more cluttered than v2. To some extent, we agree, though we don't see how we can improve the situation on v3 without removing a lot of features that a lot of members are now starting to appreciate.
Thus, lite mode. In the View Mode panel on the left, you will see 'Enable Lite'. Click it and the page will refresh to Lite Mode. Click it again (it's now 'Disable Lite' and it turns it off. This is still under heavy development; for more information, see Lite Mode
