Newzbin:Feature Details
From Newzbin Documentation

[edit] Attributes
v3 of Newzbin drops subcategories, and replaces them with more flexible Attributes.
Full details can be found in Newzbin:Report_Attributes.
[edit] Grouplists
If you like just watching the contents of a select few newsgroups, Grouplists are for you. They allow you to create your own 'Category' which simply lists the newsgroups you're interested in. They'll appear in a panel on the left-hand navigation section once you've created them.
Check in the My Account section, and look for the Grouplists link.
[edit] DirectNZB
A new interface to fetch NZBs directly in automated applications. Of most interest to application developers/coders. See Newzbin:DirectNZB.
[edit] Keywords
An addition to v3. Sometimes, you are shown an image that has letters/numbers/characters in it that you must type into the associated textbox to perform the action. At the time of writing they're implemented for logins, and NZB downloads (this replaces the old 350 NZB/week limit).
They're primarily designed to stop bots raping our site. We apologise if they cause you any inconvenience, but we feel they're necessary. You'll see them quite often on your web travels, so we're not the only ones using this sort of technology.
[edit] NZB Files
A technology developed by Newzbin (they're basically just XML) to identify posts on Usenet. NZB Files have their own page describing them: see Newzbin:NZB_Guide
[edit] Saved Searches
A new v3 feature. The advanced search form has a textbox near the bottom that allows you to give the currently-filled-in search a name, and lets you save it for one-click re-use in future.
Complete documentation for this feature has moved to Newzbin:Saved_Search.
[edit] Advanced Search Queries
Two documents to check out here; one explaining the QuickSearch bar (top-right of every page), and one the new boolean search syntax.
[edit] Subcategory Emulation in v3
A lot of members grew used to subcategories in past versions of Newzbin, and weren't comfortable with the new Attributes system in v3. To smooth the transition of moving to the new Attribute system, v3 offers Subcategory Emulation. This basically means that one Attribute for each Category has been pre-selected to act as a Subcategory.
For example, the Attribute selected to act as a Subcategory for Movies is Video Format.
You will see this Attribute listed alongside the Category in Report listings. (it will eventually be a preference to turn this on/off).
There is also a page on v3 that gives you a complete list of all the Attributes that you might see being used as Subcategories; currently at http://v3.newzbin.com/browse/category/ - note that you can click the links to view just Reports with those Attributes.
